Leyland Hose and Silicone Services (LHSS), a manufacturer of silicone hoses for hydrogen fuel cell and hybrid vehicles, has opened a new facility in Hungary to triple its production capacity.
With a headquarters in the UK, LHSS has been designing and manufacturing its hoses, primarily for the bus, truck automotive and rail industries, for more than 30 years, pushing forward the decarbonisation of transportation.
Now, with the opening of its new 2,000 square meter site near Budapest, LHSS will greatly increase its production capacity, reduce logistical costs and reduce delivery times for its European-based customers.
On the news, Ian Walsh, Sales Director at LHSS, said, “This is such an exciting time for us at LHSS. The company has grown considerably over the last couple of years to accommodate further growth and further support our European customers, an increase in product manufacturing capacity was required.
“This additional capacity will allow us to competitively serve new customers and new markets. The new facility will also support the local community in Hungry by providing additional employment and career development opportunities.”
LHSS said the facility started full production in early 2021 and the factory was officially opened on July 27, 2021.
