Linde looks to boost Californian green hydrogen production with 5MW electrolyser plans

Linde has announced plans to increase its green hydrogen production capacity in California, US, in response to growing demand for hydrogen-powered mobility.

The company is set to build, own, and operate the first of several 5MW PEM electrolysers to increase its hydrogen production capacity at its existing plant in Ontario, California, which it says will produce enough green hydrogen to avoid up to 75,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.

Plans for the Ontario plant were revealed in 2020. At the time Linde said it would produce enough green hydrogen to fuel up to 1,600 vehicles per day.
