Malaysian property developer eyes 10GW green hydrogen plant in Sabah

A Malaysian property developer is looking to build a 10GW green hydrogen production facility in the country’s state of Sabah.

LBS Bina Group Berhad (LBS) revealed it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with investment body Invest Sabah Berhad, Sabah Forestry Development Authority (SAFODA) and electrical contractor Midwest Green to explore the project.

The consortium will look to use solar and wind energy to power 10GW of electrolyser to generate over 250,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year.
