“Welcome to the church,” someone said to me when I was working on the first footings of H2 View early last year.
I was of course a hydrogen man for some considerable time prior, having studied the gases industry for over a decade and observed the incredible journey of hydrogen in particular over that period. But there can be no denying that for so many, it is indeed a case of ‘welcome to the party’.
Such is the scale of its future role in decarbonising industry and society alike, and the passion that it evokes in all those involved across the supply chain, hydrogen engenders such a sense of belonging. Everyone is a stakeholder – not just in a new technology, but in a new way of life.
That enthusiasm and feeling of ownership has been prevalent in so many of the conversations we’ve enjoyed at HyVolution 2020 today. If we thought day one was good yesterday, then these Parisian proceedings have once again been kind to us in fostering that spirit of togetherness and momentum.
