MT Group to build 3MW green hydrogen plant in Vilnius

MT Group has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to implement a 3MW green hydrogen plant in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Signed with Vilnius City Municipality, the largest centralised heat supplier in Lithuania, Vilnius Heat Networks, the MT Group-designed project will produce hydrogen to replace diesel-fuelled public transport buses in the city.

Scheduled to start up in the first half of 2026, the initiative is expected to produce up to 3.45 million metres of green hydrogen per year, according to Gerimantas Bakanas, CEO of Vilnius Heat Networks – “equivalent to around 2,000 MWh of heat energy.”
