New Entergy Texas facility to power more than 230,000 homes with natural gas and hydrogen

Entergy Texas wants to construct a 1,215MW dual fuel combined cycle power facility, which will be capable of powering more than 230,000 homes and use a combination of natural gas and hydrogen.

Sharing its ambitions on Friday (July 29), Entergy Texas said it has begun the approval process to build the Orange County Advanced Power Station, to be located near Bridge City, Texas.

It is believed that the development will provide more than 7,000 direct jobs in Texas and nearly $1.8 billion in economic activity for the regional economy – and it will help customers in Southeast Texas decarbonise their homes.
