New renewable hydrogen plant to power college, golf course and buses in Queensland, Australia

Plans for a “campus-scale” renewable hydrogen plant that will power a college, golf course and buses in Queensland, Australia have been unveiled today (18th Jan) by Energy Estate.

The advisory firm and business accelerator said it has formed a partnership with Hills International College to develop the plant, including solar PV system and renewable hydrogen production and storage facility, at the Hills Jimboomba campus.

The project, dubbed the Jimboomba Renewable Hydrogen Plant, is being developed by Energy Estate under its HydrogenGrowth platform – a platform that focuses on developing a range of large and small scale “green hydrogen” opportunities throughout Australia and internationally, including a number of large-scale plants in Queensland.

It’s also part of a wider initiative by the Hills Education Foundation to develop education and training programmes about renewable energy and hydrogen production.
