New York opens $3.7m funding call for hydrogen fuel cell grid-resilience projects


New York’s energy R&D agency has opened a $3.7m funding call for hydrogen fuel cell development and demonstration projects that could support the state’s grid resilience.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) said it was seeking proposals to develop designs for hydrogen fuel cell solutions that could work as “firm capacity” for grid balancing or manufacturing decarbonisation.

The funding programme will initially award up to $250,000 for scoping efforts, including design evaluation, completion of designs, initial costs and emissions analysis.
