Norway to gain 24MW green hydrogen production project to build ammonia value chain; ITM Power to supply the electrolyser

A new 24MW green hydrogen demonstration plant revealed today (Jan 28) is set to be developed by Yara and Linde in Norway as a means to produce carbon-neutral ammonia and decarbonise the nation’s industry.

The green hydrogen produced at this plant will be converted into ammonia at Yara’s production plant in Porsgrunn whilst additionally being supported by a NOK 283m ($31m) grant from Enova.

This will enable the development of the project and help create demand for hydrogen and ammonia within Norway.
