Norway to gain green hydrogen and ammonia production facility to support decarbonisation of the maritime sector

Norway could gain a new green ammonia and hydrogen production facility with Hy2gen set to begin a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for the large-scale project.

The project aims to support the growing zero-emission maritime sector in Norway by introducing both hydrogen and ammonia technologies to enable the decarbonisation of these sectors.

Construction of the facility could begin by 2023, following a final investment decision, the commencement of construction could be in first quarter of 2024, with the facility fully operational at the beginning of 2027.
