Nuscale explores hydrogen production from nuclear heat and desalination byproducts


Small modular reactor firm Nuscale Power is launching research into a hydrogen production method that uses heat from its nuclear reactors and brine byproduct from desalination.

The Oregon-based company announced new research programmes into advancing an energy system based on its small modular reactors and reverse osmosis desalination technology.

It claims the system could yield around 150 million gallons of clean water per day
