Obayashi selected as equity partner for hydrogen refuelling station in Port of Auckland

Japanese-based Obayashi has been selected as the equity partner for a hydrogen refuelling station project being developed by the Ports of Auckland Limited (POAL).

The hydrogen refuelling station aims to support the government in promoting a wider use of hydrogen with POAL being the largest import port in New Zealand.

POAL has been planning to develop a low emissions green hydrogen production facility and refuelling station at the site in the busy city centre to support the government’s aim of promoting wider use of hydrogen.

Through this, the aim is to replace the existing heavy port equipment with hydrogen powered alternatives.
