Oman project receives first green ammonia cargo


Oman’s first green ammonia project has begun receiving shipments.

ACME Group subsidiary Green Hydrogen and Chemicals Company (GHC) is developing the plant at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm. It is scheduled to launch in Q1 2027.

The shipment comprised 14 packages of oversized equipment including a single unit weighing 120 tonnes, according to local media reports. Forthcoming shipments will include solar PV modules, trackers and electrolysers.

The Duqm green ammonia project is one of nine large-scale green hydrogen initiatives planned across Oman’s Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates over the next decade.
