OPITO to provide standards and skills training for low carbon technologies including hydrogen

OPITO has revealed a new initiative that aims to train skilled workers for the growing clean energy sector and hydrogen as part of an agreement with the Acorn Project and Scottish Cluster.

Revealed today (Nov 17), the company will create a blueprint of industrial skilling and reskilling training to enable the rollout of a low carbon economy in Scotland.

The Acorn Project aims to take North Sea natural gas and reform it into clean-burning hydrogen, with the associated CO2 emissions safely captured and stored under the sea at the licensed Acorn CO2 Storage Site.
