Pan-United to decarbonise over 1,000 trucks with hydrogen

Hydrogen fuel cells are set to power over 1,000 trucks owned by Pan-United Concrete, the subsidiary of Singapore’s largest concrete and cement provider.

Confirming the clean shift today (Jan 5), the company said it has teamed up with Surbana Jurong for the effort which will assess hydrogen’s potential for concrete mixers and tipper trucks that currently operate on diesel.

Aligned with the company’s sustainability targets, the conversion to electric and hydrogen will showcase what other landmark firms can do when it comes to helping the world achieve decarbonisation goals.

On Pan-United’s efforts, Yeo Choon Chong, CEO of Surbana Jurong’s ASEAN Division, said, “We applaud Pan-United’s ambition to decarbonise its heavy vehicle fleet and are excited to contribute to its sustainability initiative by leveraging our expertise in electrification and hydrogen solutions.
