Partners set large-scale offshore hydrogen production goals

Lhyfe and Chantiers de l’Atlantique have partnered to take large-scale hydrogen production offshore, hoping to develop the ‘hydrogen fuel chain’ at sea and in ports.

Announced today (June 15), the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the French companies looks to develop offshore hydrogen production platforms, with a minimum capacity of 100MW.

H2 View understands the production platforms are intended to be powered by on or off-grid offshore windfarms. Chantiers de l’Atlantique are due to design, build, and install the platforms, while Lhyfe will design and operate the hydrogen production technology.
