Petrobras and Unigel kick-off green hydrogen discussions

Brazilian state-owned petroleum company Petrobras has today (June 6) revealed it has “initiated discussions” with Unigel to explore joint business opportunities on green hydrogen, low-carbon projects and fertilisers.

Petrobras and Unigel have signed a non-binding two-year confidentiality agreement, however, have said that only after the conclusion of technical analysis by a multidisciplinary group will any projects arising from the agreement have estimates of cost and return.

In 2021, Petrobras revealed its Strategic Plan 2022-2026 where it reiterated its sustainability commitments for 2025 and 2030 which included:
