Plug Power partners with MULAG

Plug Power Inc. has partnered with German speciality vehicle manufacturer MULAG to bring a new generation of hydrogen fuel cell-powered electric cargo tow tractors to Hamburg Airport in Germany.

The partnership follows the success of a previously built fuel cell-powered vehicle by the companies which ran alongside the airport’s existing ground support equipment fleet for a period of time, passing its evaluation and service testing.

Plug Power will now provide Hamburg Airport with 60 additional fuel cell units to power its baggage-towing fleet as well as permanent hydrogen stations.

“We’re excited to be delivering a new generation of alternative energy solutions for Hamburg Airport, which for nearly 20 years has been a leader in leveraging alternative drive systems for its baggage towing fleet,” said Andy Marsh, Plug Power CEO.
