Plug Power selects BASF purification equipment for liquid hydrogen plants

Plug Power will adopt BASF’s purification equipment at its hydrogen liquefaction plants with capacities of 30, 60 and 90 tonnes per day.

BASF’s Purivate Pd15 DeOxo catalysts and Sorbead Air adsorbents will reportedly enhance the efficiency and reliability of hydrogen purification processes. The DeOxo catalysts remove oxygen, while Sorbead Air absorbents dehydrate electrolysed hydrogen efficiently.

BASF’s technology successfully passed a rigorous technical qualification process ahead of the Cooperation Agreement announcement.
