Port of Duisburg and Port of Rotterdam to jointly develop hydrogen hubs

A letter of intent (LOI) has been agreed between the Port of Rotterdam and the Port of Duisburg with plans to establish hydrogen hubs in the surrounding areas of Germany and the Netherlands.

The basis of the agreement is to interconnect the two hydrogen hubs and secure a hydrogen-fuelled future for Europe.

Rotterdam is additionally being regarded as the future ‘hydrogen gateway’ to Europe and Duisburg as the hub for Germany. Setting up a physical link between the two could be a key development in scaling and accelerating adoption.
