PowerCell hydrogen fuel cell approved for marine use by Lloyd’s Register


PowerCell’s hydrogen fuel cell system for maritime applications has been approved for safety, performance, and design in line with industry standards.

The Marine System 225 received Type Approval from Lloyd’s Register, enabling shipowners and operators to “confidently adopt” the hydrogen electric technology.

The system, which delivers 225kW of power, has a modular and compact structure which allows for integration into both newbuild and retrofit applications.
