Proton Motor, Torqeedo to cut maritime emissions with new hybrid propulsion system

A new hydrogen hybrid propulsion system building kit is being developed for the maritime industry to deliver fuel cell powers between 30kW-120kW, as well as variable hydrogen storage capacity.

The development falls under the Ma-Hy-Hy project, which Proton Motor Fuel Cell and Torqeedo, part of the DEUTZ Group, on Tuesday (Jan 11) said they are working together on.

Already, the project has received official programme funding from the Bavarian Federal Government and will continue to receive funding until 2024.
