Quantron unveils long-range hydrogen and electric trucks

Quantron has unveiled its QHM FCEV heavy duty truck and QHM BEV all-electric truck at IAA Transportation – and follows Ballard Power Systems buying a minority investment stake.

The QHM FCEV features an FCmove™-XD 120 kW fuel cell newly developed by Ballard, integrated eGen Power® 130D E-axle from Allison Transmission, and 54kg hydrogen tank fully integrated in the chassis. It can travel up to 700km depending on loads and topography.

The application of the ISO directive for tractor-trailer combinations ensures interchangeability of semitrailers and tractor units at national and international level, and hydrogen consumption is monitored through a Q-Energy management system. Deliveries are scheduled from the second quarter of 2023.

Two QHM FCEV models, 60-2000 and 44-2000, have even larger tank capacities of up to 116kg, which are fully integrated in the chassic and positioned behind the cab, and provide ranges of up to 1500 km with a single filling.
