Russia’s first hydrogen tram is undergoing tests in St. Petersburg.
The tram, which was developed at the Gorelektrotans Production Deport, will help the city to decarbonise its transportation sector.
The test programme provides the possibility of operating the tram both under the contact network with a raised current collector, and in stand-alone mode using hydrogen fuel cells.
The project testing highlights St. Petersburg’s engineering and design developments and confirms the city’s position as a scientific and technical centre of Russia.
Specialists of Gorelektrotans and the branch of TaNII SET Federal State Unitary Enterprise Krylov State Scientific Centre will discuss the test results and potential developments for such vehicles.
