RVL to launch UK’s first hydrogen-electric flights with ZeroAvia


RVL Aviation has agreed to operate a Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft retrofitted with ZeroAvia’s hydrogen-electric ZA600 powertrain on domestic routes across the British Isles, pending key milestones.

Commercial flights will commence once the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) certifies the hydrogen technology, airframe integration and planned services are obtained, and all retrofit and training work is completed.

RVL is partnering with zero-emission aircraft specialist Monte to lease the Cessna Caravan 208B, showcasing how leasing models can accelerate the adoption of hydrogen-electric aviation. If successful, this approach could serve as a scalable blueprint for rolling out retrofitted aircraft across regional fleets worldwide.
