RWE launches tender for underground hydrogen storage site in Germany


RWE has launched a tender for hydrogen storage capacity at its under-construction underground site in Germany.

The power generator said companies will be able to bid for capacity available from 1 January 2028 at its Gronau-Epe site in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The site will be comprised of two converted salt caverns with a combined injection and withdrawal capacity of 50,000 cubic metres per hour for total storage of around 38 million cubic metres.
