Saga Pure announces Bjørn Simonsen as CEO and shift in focus towards hydrogen

Nel ASA’s Bjørn Simonsen is set to leave the dedicated hydrogen company after six years and has been appointed as the CEO of a new player emerging in the hydrogen space, Saga Pure.

Currently named Saga Tankers, the renewable energy investment company announced its name change, new CEO and a NOK 55m ($6m) investment in integrated green hydrogen fuel company Everfuel earlier this week (19th Oct).

According to Saga’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, the company sees significant opportunities within renewable energy investments and is specifically focusing on hydrogen as an initial area in its investment universe.

“We have extensive experience from developing companies within the renewable energy universe, e.g. from the global leader within hydrogen technologies Nel ASA,” Martin Nes said.
