SHiE pilots renewable hydrogen mobility in La Coruña

SHiE, the Aragonese entity formed by Zoilo Ríos and Arpa, has participated in a pilot test of sustainable mobility with renewable hydrogen in the port of La Coruña.

The initiative consisted of the installation, with Repsol, of a hydroline in the outer port of to supply green hydrogen to an urban bus powered by this green energy with the aim of verifying, for several days, the viability of the fuel in urban transport at the Galician city. The equipment developed by SHiE comprises hydrogen storage tanks, hydrogen gas compressors, a pre-cooling system and a hydrogen dispenser, which has a dispensing flow of up to 3.6 kg per minute with a standard pressure of 350 bars.

In addition to its speed of supply and high flows, green hydrogen was characterised by its silent, transportable and modulable properties.

Zoilo Ríos and Arpa previously announced that the first Spanish hydrogen plant will be built at El Cisne 1 service station on the A-2 motorway, towards Madrid. The first public service solar-powered hydroelectric plant is being developed with CSIC.
