Singapore launches National Hydrogen Strategy

The Government of Singapore has today (October 25) launched its National Hydrogen Strategy, saying low-carbon hydrogen could meet half of the country’s power needs by 2050.

According to the Government, low-carbon hydrogen, and its derivative, have emerged as a key potential decarbonisation pathway as the nation strives to meet Net Zero emission by the mid-century.

Under the new strategy, the administration intends on experimenting with the use of advanced hydrogen technologies, nearing commercial readiness, with plans to launch an Expression of Interest for a small-scale commercial project to utilise ammonia for power generation.
