Skagerak Energi and Statkraft have been chosen to supply green hydrogen for a zero-emission cargo vessel being developed by HeidelbergCement and Felleskjøpet.
The concept of the vessel involves replacing containers with compressed hydrogen allowing the clean gas to be utilised as a fuel for transportation in addition to other applications.
The vessel will be powered using emissions-free green hydrogen in combination with rotor sails and will transport grain from Eastern Norway to Western Norway with rock and gravel being transported on the return journey.
