Statera Energy has submitted plans for its green hydrogen project to be built in Aberdeen, Scotland, which is expected to be 3GW at full capacity.
Once constructed, Kintore Hydrogen will be the “largest” hydrogen project in Europe and is scheduled to have the first 500MW of operational capacity online by 2028. The project could save “up to 1.4 million tonnes of CO2 per year.”
“If [plans are] approved, Kintore Hydrogen could materially contribute to the growth of the UK’s hydrogen economy, support the UK’s energy independence, and accelerate the development of homegrown industrial supply chains,” explained Tom Vernon, CEO of Statera Energy.
