Sunfire has installed what it claims is the world’s first multi-MW high-temperature electrolyser to produce hydrogen.
It will be integrated into the company’s Neste’s renewable products refinery in Rotterdam and is part of the MultiPLHY hydrogen project which has now entered its commissioning phase.
Sunfire has installed 12 electrolysis modules at the refinery over the past year, totalling 2.6MW. Once operational the electrolyser is expected to produce more than 60kg of green hydrogen per hour.
