TES, CPC Finland launch JV to build 500MW Finnish hydrogen-based e-NG project

Tree Energy Solutions (TES) and CPC Finland have launched a joint venture (JV) to develop a 500MW green hydrogen-to-synthetic natural gas (e-NG) project.

The Luoto Energia JV has unveiled ambitions to build the project in the Port of Rauma, Finland, which could produce 60,000 tonnes of green hydrogen for conversion into electric natural gas (e-NG).

E-NG, which is chemically identical to natural gas, is generated by combining green hydrogen with CO2. It is fully compatible with existing infrastructure and end-use applications.

The JV said it plans to use biogenic CO2 captured from Finnish emitters.
