The past year has been monumental for green hydrogen, with the race towards large-scale production firmly in fifth gear. Not only did the EU launch its €3bn Green Hydrogen Bank, but the UK Government doubled its hydrogen power target to 10GW and launched the Hydrogen Business Model.
There has also been a flurry of hub announcements with impressive progress in terms of partnerships, production and development of use. We are moving at a lightning pace when it comes to production and consumption, which requires a constant push for innovation.
At Lhyfe we have continued to build momentum and investor confidence around the energy transition, raising €118m through an IPO on the Euronext Paris exchange. We also launched our Sealhyfe project to deliver the world’s first offshore renewable hydrogen production prototype and began our first UK operation in North East England.
Over the next 12 months, we will continue to build on the successes of 2022. We already operate a renewable green hydrogen production facility employing water electrolysis at Bouin, France, and plan similar onshore facilities across Europe. Through partnerships with companies such as Chantiers de l’Atlantique and Doris, we’re developing fixed and floating offshore production platforms.
