Thyssenkrupp Nucera acquires alkaline tech from soon-bankrupt Green Hydrogen Systems


Thyssenkrupp Nucera has acquired high-pressure alkaline electrolysis technology from Green Hydrogen Systems (GHS) as the Danish firm files for bankruptcy.

The German OEM stated that the asset deal includes both intellectual property and a test facility in Skive, Denmark, which houses a full-size electrolyser prototype.

The undisclosed purchase price will be entirely settled from Thyssenkrupp Nucera’s “available liquid funds.”

This acquisition will further expand Thyssenkrupp Nucera’s portfolio, complementing its existing atmospheric pressure alkaline systems, which are based on chlor-alkali technology, as well as its emerging solid oxide electrolysis cell technology.
