The UK government has approved a change to road laws to allow hydrogen-fuelled construction and agricultural machinery to use public highways.
Lilian Greenwood, Minister for the Future of Roads, signed a statutory instrument on Tuesday (April 29) to make the change, in a move that has been hailed by construction machinery major JCB as “historic.”
Previously, hydrogen-fuelled construction and agricultural machinery were not permitted to drive on UK roads, unlike cars, buses and trucks.
