US DOE opens applications for $7bn hydrogen hub funding programme and unveils draft hydrogen strategy

The US Department of Energy (DOE) on Thursday (September 22) opened applications for a $7bn programme to create regional clean hydrogen hubs across the country, which it hopes will form a critical arm of its clean energy economy.

Coming as a part of the $8bn hydrogen hub programmes, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the DOE says the hubs will be a key driver in helping communities across the country benefit from clean energy investments, jobs and improved energy security.
