US DOE’s Hydrogen Hub funding announcement raises storage questions

Florida-based hydrogen infrastructure technology firm, GenH2, has raised questions after Monday’s (June 6) announcement from the US Department of Energy (DOE) that it will fund the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s $8bn programme for hydrogen hubs across the US.

In a statement on Tuesday (June 7), GenH2 asked, “How will liquid hydrogen be stored at these new hubs?”, claiming that giga-spheres could be the answer to ensure sufficient storage is in place.
