Vauxhall has started customer trials of its Vivaro Hydrogen van in the UK, with a range of fleet operators adopting the vehicle.
Based on its fully electric sibling, the Vivaro Hydrogen uses a 45kW fuel cell in combination with a 10.5kWh battery to deliver 249 miles of range from 5kg of hydrogen stored onboard.
With a refuelling time of just five minutes, Vauxhall hopes to prove the potential of hydrogen in light-duty logistics, claiming the van demands “no compromise” on space compared to its combustion engine cousin.
