In a bid to accelerate commercial-scale offshore wind to hydrogen deployments across the globe, the World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO) has today (October 26) launched the Offshore Wind to Hydrogen Committee.
The industry-driven initiative plans to focus on offshore wind Power-to-X (PtX) value chain optimisation, financing, business cases, regulation, and safety and risks.
Magnus Killingland, Segment Lead for Hydrogen and CCS at independent energy expert DNV, is set to chair the committee, who will advise on industry challenges, including de-risking investment decisions, development of technologies and value chains, and full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS).
