‘World’s first’ liquid hydrogen-powered ship delivered

LMG Marin has confirmed that HYRDA, believed to be the world’s first liquid hydrogen-powered ship, has now been delivered.

Confirming the news on a LinkedIn post, the company said the ship will join her near sister NESVIK on the triangular route between Hjelmeland-Skipavik-Nesvik.

“She is ready to sail on liquid hydrogen this will only happen when supply is available, hopefully in a few months,” the post read.

“HYDRA is not just a unique design. This is a unique ship with high technological content paving the way for even more innovation on sea-going ships!”
