Yara and PepsiCo expand hydrogen-based fertiliser deal across Latin America


Yara has extended its deal with PepsiCo to supply blue hydrogen-based fertiliser products to potato farms in Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina.

The new agreement builds on the deal signed between the Norwegian fertiliser provider and food and drink multinational last year, which required Yara to deliver 165,000 tonnes of fertilisers per year to PepsiCo.

The products delivered to PepsiCo’s Latin America plants will be mostly Yara ‘Climate Choice’ fertilisers, which include lower-carbon options produced either from hydrogen-based ammonia or through carbon capture and storage (CCS).
