Yara, JERA to collaborate on a clean ammonia value chain in Japan

Yara and JERA will collaborate on the production, delivery and supply chain development for blue and green ammonia to enable zero-emission thermal power generation in Japan.

This comes with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today (May 11) that will see the two companies collaborate on a number of actors across the value chain.

The two companies will look to supply and develop new ammonia demand in Japan including for power generation purposes.

As well as this, the two will look at sequestration of already captured CO2 (CCS) at Yara’s ammonia plant in Pilbara, Australia, to help enable the production and supply of blue ammonia.
