ZeroAvia bolsters its hydrogen expertise with new appointments

ZeroAvia is set to bolster its hydrogen expertise and accelerate the development of its innovative hydrogen solutions for the aviation industry with the expansion of its team.

With the expansion of the team, ZeroAvia aims to accelerate the development of its hydrogen propulsion technology and pave the way forward for new partnerships and integration of hydrogen technologies.

Joining the team is Shell’s Former Global Hydrogen Technology Director Arnab Chatterjee joining as Vice-President of Infrastructure, and 35-year Boeing veteran and former Chief Engineer of Propulsion Jim Petersen who has joined the advisory board.

Co-Founder and former Head of Strategy of the UK’s Aerospace Technology Institute James McMicking has also joined the company as the new Vice-President of Strategy.

McMicking will play a key role for ZeroAvia moving forward with him now responsible for building a strategic roadmap for the business, both from a commercial and technical perspective to reach its 2024 target.

“Adding strong strategic firepower to the business, as well as industry-leading expertise to continue our rapid R&D advancement, will help us to take things to a new level in 2022.”

“In three years’ time, we are going to have in commercial operation the first aircraft powered by hydrogen-electric engines, and you will be able to buy a ticket to one of your favourite destinations.”

That’s what ZeroAvia founder and CEO Dr. Val Mifthakov told viewers watching the final instalment of H2 View’s three-part series of webinars, powered by gasworld TV, and hosted by H2 View’s Managing Editor Rob Cockerill, today.

Founded in 2017, ZeroAvia is currently developing a new type of engine based on hydrogen fuel cells that aims to transform the highly pollutant aerospace industry into a cleaner sector.
