ZeroAvia partners with Hindustan Aeronautics to implement hydrogen-electric technologies

ZeroAvia has partnered with Indian state-owned aerospace & defence company Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) to develop a hydrogen-electric powertrain capable of flying the 19 seat Dornier 228 aircraft up to 500NM.

HAL hopes that, in working with ZeroAvia, it will retrofit existing airframes for both Indian military and worldwide operators.

The company also hope to create opportunities to incorporate ZeroAvia’s ZA600 zero-emission engines into a designated Hindustan-228.
