ZeroAvia secures £10.8m in UK gov. funding for liquid hydrogen flight test


ZeroAvia has been awarded a £10.8m ($14.6m) grant from the UK government to develop a liquid hydrogen fuel system for a Dornier 228, ahead of a series of test flights.

The Liquid Hydrogen System Integration & Flight Test (LH-SIFT) project is one of several Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) Programme initiatives benefiting from the UK’s latest £250m ($339m) green aerospace investment drive, announced at the Paris Air Show.

ZeroAvia and its partners, Green Resource Engineering and Gas & Liquid Controls, plan to demonstrate the “world’s first” commercial aircraft testbed using liquid hydrogen.
