100MW green hydrogen plant planned at Port of Antwerp-Bruges

Plans have been announced today (June 8) to build a hydrogen generation plant to produce 35 tonnes of green hydrogen per day at Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Belgium.

Plug Power has signed a 30-year concession agreement to build a 100MW green hydrogen plant, which it claims to be the second largest of its kind in Europe, using its own electrolyser technology.

On a 28-acre site, Plug Power expects to produce up to 12,500 tonnes of liquid and gaseous green hydrogen for the European market per year, hoping to contribute to the continent’s decarbonisation and energy stability plans.
