Having taken to the skies with its prototype aircraft equipped with hydrogen fuel cell powertrains, Universal Hydrogen has raised the bar for the zero-emission aviation industry in 2023.

H2 View sits down with Mark Cousin, President and Chief Technology Officer at Universal Hydrogen, to hear more about the landmark year, the propulsion technology and future plans.

What were Universal Hydrogen’s corporate highlights of 2023?

2023 was a momentous year for Universal Hydrogen, marking the beginning of test flights on our Dash-8 airplane that was powered on one side by our hydrogen fuel cell powertrain. Our first successful flight was in March in Moses Lake, Washington and was the largest hydrogen fuel cell-powered airplane to ever cruise principally on hydrogen.
