13,500-tonne plastic-to-hydrogen site planned for Glasgow

The UK’s second plastic-to-hydrogen facility could be located at Rothesay Dock, Glasgow.

Peel NRE today (August 18) said it has submitted a planning application to West Dunbartonshire Council for the 13,500-tonne site valued at approximately £20m ($27.5m).

Utilising technology developed by UK-based Powerhouse Energy Group, the facility will transform non-recyclable plastics into sustainable hydrogen for refuelling fuel cell vehicles.
