1GW Danish green hydrogen project granted environmental approval

A 1GW green hydrogen production facility planned for Esbjerg, Denmark, has received environmental approval, bringing the H2 Energy Europe project closer to final investment decision (FID).

The facility plans to utilise 1GW of Plug Power PEM electrolysers, powered by offshore wind, to produce up to 100,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year from 2028.
